I´m back to my “normal” live on campus, back to civilisation, one could say.
It was a great time in the village of my professor, I could totally concentrate on the culture and country, there was no internet connection or even mobile network. So time for a break.
Of cause I had to shake sooo many hands and got to know sooo many relatives- it always takes me very long time to understand the relation: “this is my brothers cousin-in-law son” ähhhmm.... yes, ok- someone from the family ;) and finally after 3days I was done with one round, but this means I´m invited again. As you all know, hospitality is always important, especially if you have the first time a ANGREZ (english person) in your house. That means I always have to eat or at least drink something... and now i´m full like after Christmas time.
The holiday was actually the biggest festival of the year and so nearly every house slaughtered a goat, sheep or like in my house a buffalo. I learned a lot about the meaning of “halal” meet (for muslims animals have to be slaughtered in a special way) and also about the tradition to give 1/3 of the meet to relatives- and there are a lot- 1/3 to poor people -also many- and 1/3 the family keeps to have a big meal. To be honest I tried it- buffalo- it was... good...
